Members in this position are expected to work with internal and external business users as well as product management and internal development teams to analyze pertinent underlying data and systems and further define requirements needed to develop data products for the firms largest data migration initiative. The Data Analyst is responsible for developing an understanding of the firms data pertinent to crucial business processes in order to affect working IT solutions based on firm initiatives. Duties of the role require ability to analyze raw as well derived or refined data sources to understand technical structure as well as business nature of the data within. Duties also require a focus on analysis of data quality to ensure accuracy within data products built via transformations of various data sources. Familiarity with relational databases is crucial with background in querying large datasets and ETL processes preferred.What We're Looking For Develop an understanding of the Stifel business & data models to assist migration and curation of firm data from on prem data centers to cloud based infrastructure. Work with relational databases and query large datasets as part of the ETL process. Analyze source data as part of large data migration initiative applying business concepts in order to prepare core data for business consumption Create mapping and documentation identifying proper transformation logic and definition of domain driven data products in AWS datastores Perform quality assurance testing on data products built Assist in enhancements and support of data products based on stakeholder or consumption needs Proactively identify and recommend process and practice improvement within the team. Maintain strong communication with stakeholders - following up as needed to ensure all requests are being actively addressed and/or status is being communicated. Gain and utilize a strong understanding of company applications and business practices in the context of how they affect the firm's data.What You'll Bring Solid understanding of financial industry terminology and concepts. Knowledge of financial services - specifically wealth management. Solid understanding of basic concepts of Microsoft T-SQL and database design. Ability to leverage SQL to create queries which model and/or aggregate large complex datasets. Leverage these skills to grow abilities in developing normalized data sets for enterprise wide business intelligence purposes. Strong analytical skills focused on using logic and reasoning to identify complex relationships within a data structure as well as to research and discuss recommended uses.Education & Experience Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology - Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent work experience Minimum Required: 1-3 years' of investment - financial or technical experienceLicenses & Credentials Minimum Required: None. Preferred: AWS or other cloud platform experience or certificationsSystems & Technology Microsoft Excel - Word - PowerPoint - Outlook - Teams - Zoom Incident and Change Request ticketing systems. Productivity - reporting - and technical documentation software JIRA - Sharepoint Cloud AWS; Azure DevOps Microsoft SQL server; Python; AWS data services Client/server computing architecture - user interfaces and application programing interfaces. Understand concepts related to relational databases. Ability to create intermediate SQL queries.
